A Touch of Warmth Corporation was born one evening when a little girl, Aaliyah Rucker, began talking to her mother about those that are less fortunate. She expressed the fact that it was unfair that some people had little or nothing at all. Her dream was to buy blankets for all children who needed one. Aaliyah began her mission by asking friends and family to give her blankets so that she could take them to local shelters. She collected over 160 blankets and distributed the blankets one cold, Thanksgiving morning. It was amazing to see the smiles on the children’s faces and confirmed to the young dreamer that she should continue her objective of helping and caring about people. In 2011, Aaliyah’s dream was formalized and A Touch of Warmth Corporation, a Georgia not-for-profit 501(c)3, was formed.
Mission:
A Touch of Warmth Corporation is devoted, generally, to relief of the poor, distressed and underprivileged, and specifically, to providing care, comfort, blankets and other goods to the residents of children’s shelters.
